Mae Chaney, age 84, of Stuart, died Wednesday, June 21, 2016, at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Laurel Fork.
She was born in Patrick County on May 6, 1932, to the late Lewis Stephon Chaney and Ella Parker Chaney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Roscoe, Amon, Henry and Tom Chaney; two sisters, Ollie and Lena Chaney; and an infant sister.
She was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Belle Chaney of Stuart; a sister-in-law, Lera Everine Chaney of Stuart; nine nieces; and three nephews.
A graveside service was held Friday at the Chaney family cemetery with Pastor Mark Terry officiating.
