Make plans now for FloydFest 17

Five days of music will soon come to Patrick County as FloydFest 17 – Freedom opens July 26. The festival will run through July 30 at the site just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 170.5.

The festival offers multiple stages and a wide variety of musical genres and performers.
Scheduled bands include Thievery Corporation, Michael Franti and Spearhead, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Leftover Salmon, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Keller Williams, Rising Appalachia, Steel Pulse, Railroad Earth, Shovels and Rope, Buffalo Mountain Jam, Xavier Rudd, White Denim, Turkuaz, Fruition, Tauk, The Steel Wheel, Larry Keel Experience, Nicola Cruz, HoneyHoney, Vurro, Big Something, Shook Twins, Baskery, Zach Deputy,  Aaron Lee Tasjan, Femina, That 1 Guy, Dave Eggar Band featuring Sasha Lazard, Jack Broadbent, Hillbilly Casino, Davy Knowles, Trae Pierce & The T-Stones, The Hip Abduction, The Mantras, The Lil’ Smokies, People’s Blues of Richmond, Rebekah Todd & The Odyssey, The Suitcase Junket, Black Masala, Urban Soil, Blue Mule, Che Apalache, Jordan Harman Band, M.C. Broom & The Jam, T Sisters, Banditos, John Stickley Trio, The Tillers, Alanna Royale, The Stashi Band, Strange Americans, Whiskerman, The Brother Brothers, Honey Island Swamp Band, Edward David Anderson, Dead 27S, McLovins, Hayley Jane and the Primates, Broccoli Samurai, The Drunken Hearts, Strange Machines, Liver Down the River, Sol Searchers, Gote, and Black Mountain Revival.

Also featured are Howard Falco, Dixon’s Violin, Miss Kitty’s Cosmonauts, Oakley The Greenman, Lunaversal.hoopz and PLF, with more performers to be added.

The fest includes workshops and panels, a healing arts village, outdoor adventures and children’s universe and teen scene activities.

The box office opens at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, for High-Roller All-Access VIPs and at noon for 5-day ticket-holders. It remains open through Sunday, July 30, 2017 (although it does close overnight from midnight to 9 a.m.). Arrival time depends on the ticket type purchase. Consult your ticket for details.
This year, festival organizers have announced that the official FloydFest app is available. Designed for both iPhone and Android, the app is available for download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
