An Ararat man was arrested June 27 on a charge of rape, according to the weekly arrest report from Sheriff Dan Smith.
Maurice Chevelle Carter, 51, of Unity Church Road in Ararat, was charged with rape by force, threat or intimidation.
Deputy D. Dillon made the arrest.
No details about the case or the charge were available.
Sheriff Smith also reported the following arrests:
• Walther Alonso Romero Rivera, 28, of Hillsville, was arrested June 27 on a charge of driving while intoxicated, first offense.

• Jennifer Lee Gray, 29, of Meadows of Dan, was arrested was arrested June 28 on charges of grand larceny and breaking and entering.
Investigator T.K. Wilson made the arrest.
• Jessie Ray Belcher, 26, of Patrick Springs, was arrested June 28 on a charge of revocation of probation.
Deputy Brad Holt made the arrest.
• Mike Wayne Davis, 52, of Stuart, was arrested June 28 on a charge of trespassing.
Deputy D.L. Foley made the arrest.
• Robby Glenn Grona II, 22, of Patrick Springs, was arrested June 28 on a charge of probation violation.
Henry County made the arrest for Patrick County.
• John Henry McBride, 36, of Bassett, was arrested June 29 on an indictment charge of destroying property.
Deputy W.D. Haymore made the arrest.
• Timothy Wayne Belcher, 54, of Stuart, was arrested June 29 on a charge of violating a protective order.
Deputy J.G. Pickerel made the arrest.
• Patric Connor Romesburg, 23, of Chatham, was arrested June 30 on two counts of trespassing and one count of stalking.
Deputy Bryant Pruitt made the arrest.
