Marilyn Sue Archer, age 68, of Patrick Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2016.
She was born in Sidney, Oh., on July 24, 1947, and was a daughter of the late James and Kathleen Garlow Reisinger. She was married to Denford “Denny” Floyd Archer, the love of her life, for 42 years. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2015. She was also preceded in death by two half-sisters, Mrs. Roger (Janet) Aschenbach and Mrs. James (Betty) Brentlinger.
She worked over 30 years for United Elastic and then became a hairdresser where she worked at Curls & Colors in Patrick Springs before retiring. In addition, she managed the widely known charitable gospel singing group, The Southern Prophets, founded by her husband. She was a member of New Life Community Fellowship Church in Stuart.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Vanessa DuPuy of Duff, Tenn., and her cousin, Mary Ann Settlemire of Washington, D.C., as well as a host of extended family and friends, and her beloved Beagle, Sandy Man.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart, VA 24171.
