obit-reynolds-maryMary Elizabeth Tatum Reynolds, age 75, of Patrick Springs, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Patrick County on September 8, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Lee Benton Tatum and Rosie Evelyn Hylton Tatum. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Reynolds; and two sisters, Lucy Conner and Janie Tatum.
She was the mother of True Gospel Holiness Church for over 30 years. She enjoyed all flowers and mowing her yard.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Bishop Willie Reynolds of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and George Penn, Becky and Calvin Helms, Gracie Hagwood, and Judy Reynolds, all of Patrick Springs; five sons and daughters-in-law, Willie and Gale Reynolds Jr. of Patrick Springs, Leander and Linda Reynolds of Spencer, Emmanuel and Tammy Reynolds of Martinsville, Lonnie Reynolds of Stuart, and Kenneth Reynolds of Spencer; 31 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James M. and Ephornia Tatum of Spencer, Thomas and Ann Tatum of Martinsville, Frank and Saberina Tatum of Martinsville, and John Willie Tatum of Stuart; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Maggie and Leroy Penn and Beulah P. Penn, all of Martinsville, Linda R. Conner of Mount Airy, N.C., and Betty Tatum of Stuart; two aunts, Doretha Reynolds, Mable Reynolds both of Critz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at True Gospel Holiness Church with Deacon Kenneth Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
