Master gardeners plan symposium

The Patrick County Master Gardeners will host their annual “Master Your Garden” symposium on Saturday, March 5. The event will be held at Patrick Henry Community College in Stuart.
Sign-in is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The programs will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Speakers will include Jonathan Woods, whose topic will be “Home Grown Fruits.” Jeremy Warren will speak on “How to Make Your Garden Work For You” and Alex Hessler will give advice on “Extending the Growing Season”. This year’s vendors are Happy Bee Herbs, Laurel Mountain Soaps, Beautiful Earth Nursery, Mattie B’s, Henry and Patrick County MGs, Tom’s Timeless Treasures and, Stone House Farms.
Gingerbread Creations is catering the event.
The cost of the workshop is $30. Pre-registration is recommended. To pre-register, download the registration form from the master gardeners’ Facebook page or call (276) 692-6175 or (276) 694-2946. Walk-ins are welcomed on the day of the event but lunch will not be included.
