Meadows of Dan Folk Fair slated Saturday

The 12th annual Meadows of Dan Folk Fair will be held on Aug. 20 “from 10 a.m. until the fun ends,” according to a news release from the Meadows of Dan Community Association.
The event will be spread out throughout Meadows of Dan from the Toy Time Museum to the Meadows of Dan Community Center.
Vendors will include Crooked Road Hardwoods, 2 Bird Leather, Scentsy, Essential Oils, handmade towels and aprons, Simply Stones, handcut glass ornaments, wooden bowls, handcrafted gift items, Lila Roe Clothing, and much more.
Authors and their books will also be at the event.
Other activities will include preserve-making “the old-time way,” Stanburn Winery, and Outdoor Entertainment with inflatables.
Food services will be provided by the following: a fish fry by Meadows of Dan Elementary; hot dogs by Vesta Community Center; peach cobbler by Meadows of Dan Baptist Church; Shans Kettlecorn, deep-fried Oreos, pork skins, and homemade lemonade.
The entertainment lineup will include: Jim Lord at the Poor Farmer’s Stage at 11 a.m.; a play, “Five Favorite Fairy Tales,” performed by Once Upon a Blue Ridge at the Meadows of Dan Community Center at 2 p.m.; the Country Boys at Meadows Mercantile at 3 p.m.; Two Young Two Old at the Poor Farmer’s Stage at 5 p.m.; and Southern Remedy at the Poor Farmer’s Stage at 7 p.m.
