Melissa Ann Rorrer, age 50, of Woolwine, Virginia, passed away on March 27, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1975, in Manassas, Virginia, to Darriel and Jean Salmons. Melissa was known for her courageous spirit and unwavering strength. A true warrior, she faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. She had a bubbly personality and a heart that welcomed everyone-she never met a stranger and was truly a people person.

Above all, Melissa was family-centered. She was a devoted mother, daughter, partner, and friend, whose love for her family was unmatched. She was caring, selfless, kind, always putting others before herself and offering comfort, laughter, and support to those around her. She enjoyed crafting and crocheting, and most recently, spending every second she could with her beloved granddaughter, Everleigh.  Her favorite place was the beach, and she also enjoyed riding motorcycles any chance she could get.

She is survived by her daughters, Chasity Rorrer (Justin Fain) and Karleigh Rorrer; granddaughter, Everleigh Charles; her partner, Darren Light; her parents, Darriel and Jean Salmons; her brother, Darriel Salmons, Jr. (Christie); her father-in-law, Delmas Rorrer; sister-in-law, Wendy Rorrer; best friend, Terri VanSutphin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chad Rorrer; her mother-in-law, Lelia Rorrer; maternal grandmother, Rose Byrne; and paternal grandparents, Oliver and Evelyn Salmons.

The funeral service for Melissa will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Delmas Rorrer and Michael Smith officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the DeHart Family Cemetery on Raven Den Lane in Woolwine. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Wednesday morning at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

Melissa will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the deep love she had for her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
