Happy 90th to Joann Ayers, born April 8, 1930
“God made someone special 90 years ago. That someone special is you; our Mama, our Grandma, our hero. A blessing to our family. You were born during the Great Depression when a gallon of milk cost 10 cents and a car sold for $700. You married your sweetheart Charlie Ayers after he returned home from serving in World War II. You gave birth to three daughters during the Postwar Baby Boom.
You’ve seen countless new inventions from jet engines, to color television, to car seat belts, computers, the World Wide Web , and cell phones. You watched the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., the Vietnam War and the Energy Crisis of the 1970s, the Wall Street Crash of 1987, the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, 9/11, and mass shootings, just to name a few. And now, the coronavirus.
Through it all, you’ve kept your faith, your belief in God and His will, and you continue to love and encourage us and many others. Though social distancing will prevent us all from being together to celebrate your special day, please know that we celebrate you each and every day.
We love you,
Rose, Wes, Sara, Nicky, and Blake.
