Wood named to new post

Jason A. Wood was named the Director of Operations and Adult Education effective July 1, according to a release from the Patrick County School division.

Wood has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Physical Education and Biology from Ferrum College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Jones International University.

Wood has been the principal at Meadows of Dan Elementary School since 2014. In addition, he served as assistant principal/activities director at Bassett High School, taught Biology and Earth Science at Fieldale Collinsville High School, and taught Physical Science and Physics at Patrick County High School.

He serves on the Board of Directors for Tri Area Community Health and as Treasurer for Mountain Top Recreation Park. He is a member of the Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club and the Meadows of Dan Community Association. Wood also is a volunteer coach for several Parks and Recreation Elementary Sports.

A Patrick County native, Wood lives in Meadows of Dan with his wife, Libby, and three children, Callie, Meredith, and William.
