Known for their distinct sound mingling classic folk-rock, modern alt-country and traditional Appalachian music, Mipso is returning to the Blue Ridge Music Center at 7 p.m., Saturday, September 8, for a newly announced show.
The concert will be held in the outdoor amphitheater at the base of Fisher Peak at milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Galax. Tickets are: adults – $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the show and $10 for children age 3-12.
Mipso’s members are Jacob Sharp (mandolin, vocals), Joseph Terrell (guitar, lead vocals), Libby Rodenbough (fiddle, vocals), and Wood Robinson (double bass). These four young renegade traditionalists are doing their part to carry forward the living musical traditions of North Carolina and beyond. Their musical style blends classic four-part harmonies, traditional Appalachian country and folk sounds, country, jazz and pop, expanding beyond the traditional vocabularies of old-time and bluegrass music.
This show has been added to the Roots of American music series schedule announced last spring.
