Old Man Winter paid us a visit with cold weather and snow in the mountains.
Down in the lowlands it was really chilly and windy also.
My friend Bernice Irvin called and really brightened my day. We have been through a lot together in our lifetime but the Lord has always lifted us up and we kept going.
I am glad to hear that Sam Handy is doing well at this time.
It was a nice surprise when neighbor Connie Greer came by and brought me a Valentine from her and Steve — with a note written inside– plus a box of Valentine candy and a beautiful snowman doorstop she had made. Thank you. Harlie the dog was riding in the back. He’s so cute.
I surely did enjoy my cupcakes that Vera Plasters gave me. It’s so special to see her every week. She’s amazing at 101 years.
Here it is February and I hardly saw January. Now we are thinking of Valentine’s Day and Black History Month and the wonderful singing at the Reynolds Homestead by Sister Burgie Penn and a host of wonderful singers and musicians. I can hardly wait to hear that saxophone music February 12 at 3 p.m.
Do you remember when we made our valentines at school? That was fun, wasn’t it? I still have some.
Neighbor Teresa is doing well so far following her back surgery. She’s always upbeat.
Love and prayers go out to Leonard and Arlene Trent. Please put them on your daily prayer list.
“Miss Claudine” Wood up on the mountain loves company. Recently Iva Jane Hubbard and Roger and Margaret Swiney visited her. Of course, her family runs in all the time every day.
We are getting ready for a fast at church, but I don’t think the Daniel Fast is bad at all because we are eating healthy fruits and vegetables.
Herb hint – Chervil is an aromatic pungent herb of the carrot family like parsley, but more delicate. Use fresh or dry in salads, soups, eggs and cheese dishes.

Food for thought
Live in the atmosphere of God’s love. He is the air we breathe. He is the life within you and there is no better life to enjoy, to know and live.
