It was so good to hear from Jackie Davenport. She writes the nicest words in her letters to me and never forgets the special days. She is very special.
Blueberries are winding down. I’ve been out three times, and didn’t see a bear but I was on the lookout and had my car parked nearby.
It was nice to go to Fairy Stone State Park again. It’s been a long time since I had been there. It was nice to ride the church bus. Some of the guys enjoyed playing corn hole. As for me, I just enjoyed relaxing—and eating some delicious food and talking.
I enjoyed talking with Danny Reynolds the other night. God bless you.
Thanks to Gene Tinker for a nice letter. I miss seeing him and his wife.
Also thanks to Beverly Woody for some nice photos of Mike and Sue Hall and me taken by Beverly on our trip to the mountains.
Please keep Dorothy Vipperman and Juanita Mengelt on your prayer list.
I wish more people would attend the Crime Watch meetings. They are helpful. It was so good to hear Sheriff Smith talk, along with Patricia Crissman speaking on suicides. We are so blessed to have a wonderful sheriff’s office.
The hummingbirds are eating a lot these days, and the big Japanese hornets are buzzing around and eating a lot of nectar also. These Japanese hornets are the worst I’ve ever seen them.
Pastor Ben makes the Bod4God classes so interesting. If you would like to attend, the classes are every Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Household hint: for powered sugar, mix on high speed 1 cup of granulated sugar and one tablespoon of cornstarch.
JELL-O SALAD
1 pkg. lemon Jell-O
1 pkg. lime Jell-O
1 small can crushed pineapple
1 c evaporated milk
12 oz. cottage cheese
1/2 c chopped pecans
Add 2 cups boiling water to Jell-O. Mix well. Stir in other ingredients and chill. Serve as a salad or dessert.
Food for thought
In resolving conflict: How you say it is as important as what you say.
A verse to remember: Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody. Romans 12:18.

Pictured here is my aunt Clayton Hall Boyd, all dressed up for a Sunday date with Oscar Boyd, whom she married. She was a sharp dresser in those days. I miss her so much, and my Uncle Oscar too.
