It was a good day when the Falcon Children’s Home came to sing at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
They were a wonderful group of children and the singing was beautiful. I was so sorry to hear of the death of Fred Spencer. My love and heartfelt sympathy goes out to Sue and the family.
Thanks to the nice gentleman who paid for my lunch at Wendy’s on Sunday. That was a pleasant surprise. Thank you, and God bless you.
I enjoyed spending some time with Donna Rowe the other day. Keep her in your prayers as she recovers from knee surgery. Donna is a very sweet person. Lots of folks were excited about the eclipse and watched at various points. Miss Claudine Wood told me that one time her dad (Joe Hall) said it got so dark that the chickens went into the hen house to roost. The Patrick County Music Association had some good music on Saturday night with The Country Boys and Over the Hill Gang. I enjoyed it all including the jam session. They are really talented with lots of the old songs from my day. I enjoy my people on the soup route each Tuesday and they are so nice. Last Tuesday when I got home they had given me chocolate cake, eggs, and an abundance of food—canned goods—for the Food Ministry at church. Thank you!I want the lady that gave us the hummingbird plants to know they are growing and running everywhere and the plants at the Soup Kitchen have run all over the porch railings. Mine is running every which way and fill of blooms. I saw some hummingbirds at my plants eating nectar. The other day I was at Elizabeth’s Pizza for my weekly visit and decided to order something different so I got the turkey club. When my order arrived it was huge and I mean HUGE. I ate half of the half and took the rest home—enough for three meals. Love to my Elizabeth’s Pizza friends.I always enjoy my visits with Arlene Trent and love her and Leonard. Thanks for listening to me and a problem I was facing. Thanks for being my friend and I went away feeling a lot better. Imagine getting a dozen homegrown eggs and the next morning when I opened them I found a $10 bill in the carton. Dorothy Vipperman is full of surprises. The next day she gave me a pint of honey. Thank you.
Remember that one word or a pleasing smile is often enough to raise up a saddened and wounded soul.Side salad idea: for spinach, round slices of hard boiled eggs and then rings of red onions with the spinach, use hot bacon dressing.MOLDED LIME AND

Food for thought
Whenever we try to “wing it” without God’s help, we end up “hoofing it” through places we never intended to go.
