On Sunday when church was over, several cars had a paper on the windshield, mine included.
It read: Stop! You have received a ticket because you are so awesome. It was The Shine Ministry at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. Thank you – you made my day. This ticket will have a place in my memory book.
So sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Ed Easter of the group the Easter Brothers. I worked with Ed at Bassett Walker and he was a true Christian. My love and heartfelt sympathy to the family.
So sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Jimmy Belcher (son of Waller and Beadie Belcher.) My heartfelt sympathy to the family.
Providence Methodist Church was really busy on the first Saturday. There was breakfast and then they did 400 subs for Super Bowl Sunday. I enjoyed breakfast with Mike and Sue Hall and Pastor Churchwell, and Edie. I had a sub for Saturday and Sunday – it was so big it was two big meals.
The Soup Kitchen wanted some plastic lids. Guess what? Beverly Woody sent a bunch by UPS to me and when I went to Van and Donna Rowe’s home, a gentleman had brought some also. Van and Donna really were pleased and send a “big thank you.”
Heartfelt sympathy to Connie Greer for the loss of her brother.
Thanks to Mary Simmons for the generous donation to the Food Ministry. It will be spent wisely.
The other day when I was in Elizabeth’s Pizza, I met one of my customers who used to come to Greene’s Country Store. Then a nice young man came to my table who works at Carter Bank. I’m always glad to meet friendly folks.
Jean Belcher is doing well after some surgery.
Neighbors Larry and Teresa Martin got in some horseback riding when we had those warm days.
Food for thought – It’s great to love the truth, but it’s greater still to speak the truth in love.
English Pea Salad
1 can English peas
2 boiled eggs, chopped
1/4 cup chopped pickles
1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
1/4 cup grated cheese
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup grated carrots
Mayonnaise to taste
Mix all ingredients together. Before serving, add Mayo – just enough to blend the ingredients to a preferred consistency.
Hint for quick frosting – A quick frosting can be made by adding a bit of chocolate syrup to prepared frosting.
