Neighbors Larry and Teresa Martin enjoyed a few days in South Carolina and got in a bit of horseback riding and some sun.
Providence United Methodist Church had a huge yard sale with lots of nice things. The food was really good also. I really enjoy their newsletter. Keep up the good work.
It surely was nice to eat at Elizabeth’s Pizza with the Martins. There was a big crowd there.
I hadn’t had a good tomato since last year. Now All Seasons has some good ones fresh off the vine.
Alan Rakes amazes me with his knowledge of the Hebrew language. He must have put in a lot of hours studying.

My sister-in-law, Hilda Nittler, and I had a beautiful day to go to all the cemeteries at Mountain View, Conner’s View, Adams and Reynolds and put flowers out. We enjoyed lunch at On The Run. The weather was perfect. Of course we stopped by to see “Miss Claudine.”
I was saddened to hear of the death of Betty Jean Conner. She was the wife of the late Lyle Conner. It was always a joy to talk to her and it hadn’t been so long that she called me one day. Love and heartfelt sympathy go to the family.
Helpful hint: Muffins can be eaten warm, most other quick breads taste better the next day. Nut breads are better if stared 24 hours before serving.
DIABETIC CAKE
2 1/2 cups oats
2 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
8 pkts (Individual serving size) Sweet and Low
2 2/3 cup powdered milk
1 cup raisins
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
Combine oatmeal, applesauce, cinnamon, baking powder, Sweet-n-Low, powdered milk, raisins, allspice, oil, walnuts, vanilla, and baking soda. Pour into a greased 13″x9″x2″ sheet pan. Bake for 45 minutes.
