Carolyn Marshall with her daughter, Sidney. Carolyn is a friend of my neighbor, Connie Greer. Thanks to Connie for this photo.

It’s been a busy week, but a very enjoyable week. I enjoyed Bible school at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Church and the class taught by Pastor Marion.

On Saturday, July 21, Sue Hall took me and Judy Gardner to Mount Airy, N.C., and boy did she have a big surprise for me and Judy. The old Sheriff’s police car was waiting for us to go on a tour. We had a very nice driver who gave us a grand tour of Andy Griffin’s hometown. The driver was 75 years old and a retired history teacher. We learned a lot of history, and saw people lined up for that famous pork chop sandwich. It was a long line outside – a very good day.

Sue knows how to surprise, thanks again for a very enjoyable day and a lot of good memories.

The other day I met a nice gentleman at the library. Mr. Titus Jackson, it was good to see you again.

I’m always amazed at Alan Rakes Bible Hebrew teachings at church. It’s amazing at the knowledge he has. What a great gift!

Continue to keep Helen Robinson’s family in your prayers.

The missionary from Africa that spoke at church was so good and she was a great speaker. It brought tears to many eyes that this tribe was forgotten. She and her husband are doing great work. A lot of tears were shed when we saw the slides. They have two wells with money donated by the women’s ministry and the church, and have good drinking water.

Thanks to Van Rowe, a lot of people are enjoying fresh vegetables from the Soup Kitchen Garden and his own garden. On Sunday, he had 3 big baskets of fresh veggies on the back of his truck and told everyone to help themselves. I got a bag of nice green beans. Thanks, another blessing! Then on Monday, he brought a lot to the church food ministry.

Bible school at church was very good. They also had a baptismal service. In the adult Bible study class, we did a craft string art, it is very pretty. We made a cross, but I found my old hands just don’t work like they use to. I was happy to have my friend, Kathy Trent, to help me along. Edie taught the class, and she is so talented with painting and crafts.

On the last day of Bible school, the kids had a good time on the waterslide and bounce house. A fire truck came. Also, several people were baptized. There was also lots of good food.

Food for thought – Remember God always was, is now, and always will be, faithful.
