The cold weather lets us know that winter is here in full force with low temperatures. In between we got a little rain, which we needed.
I was saddened to hear of the death of Warren Shuff, a well respected gentleman. Every Sunday when he came to church, he always had a bag of canned food for the food ministry at church. Prayers and heartfelt sympathy go to the family.
The Soup Kitchen got a big blessing recently when Results donated 1,000 cans of food. Then a nice gentleman made a nice donation of pinto beans, potatoes and onions, plus a few more items. Thank you!
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Jack Wilson. Love and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.
“Miss Claudine” Wood up on the mountain and I have been getting a lot of calls of a man not speaking English, sounded more like Chinese to me. After two days of calling, I told him “If you call one more time I will call up the Sheriff’s department.” For four days he hasn’t called. “Miss Claudine” said she might try that too. Hope it works.
I enjoyed the poor man’s meal at church for Pastor Kenneth Terry’s mission trip. It was very tasty. Adam fried some cornbread—long time since I had that.
It was nice to meet Danny Hundley’s son at Carol’s memorial service. I also got to meet Carol’s brother. He spoke at the service also.
Mary Ann came from D.C. for a few days recently. She took me to lunch at Tony’s, gave me a gas card plus two CDs, made me a necklace plus more things. It was so good to see her again.
Here we are on the Daniel Fast at church which isn’t bad at all. I’ll have to do it an extra day because I had a grilled chicken sandwich when I ate with Mary Ann. That means I’ll have to go a day longer, doesn’t it?
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Karen Gunter Walker. She was a beautiful lady and had a great card ministry. She made cards with a friend and they gave them to people and cheered them up. I was a good friend of Karen’s grandmother. Love and heartfelt sympathy to the family.
A thought: Only the Lord can really comfort us when we grieve. Sometimes the heaviness we feel at times even makes it hard to breathe but then there comes a time that we are filled with peace and comfort. We are very grateful for this. You are the great comforter. Remember, only God can turn heartache into hope, and despair into deliverance.
Helpful hint: Place fresh or dried mint in the bottom of hot chocolate for a refreshing taste.

Food for thought
Church is the only place you can go just as you are and leave as God sees you. Psalm 84:4 says, “Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.”
