This spring, Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care will present “A Night of a Thousand Lights” to celebrate and commemorate the families served by hospice in Virginia. The event will feature live music, food, activities for the entire family, and a display of Luminaria bags.

It also will raise money for the uninsured and under-insured patients served by Mountain Valley Hospice each year.

Beginning Feb. 18 at 6 p.m., Mountain Valley Hospice will hold community planning meetings on the third Tuesday of each month until the event to coordinate activities and to recruit for volunteers. Meetings will be held at Mountain Valley Hospice Stuart office 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, Va.

Anyone interested in being a part of the volunteer committee or volunteering to help during the event is asked to call the Development Department at Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 1-888-789-2922, or (276) 694-4416.

The agency will not turn away any patient due to lack of funds or coverage. Events such as “A Night of a Thousand Lights” help Mountain Valley Hospice sustain its mission to provide compassionate, professional end-of-life-care, and to provide ancillary services such as We Honor Veterans, Kids Path Grief Camp, and Bereavement Care.
