Mountaintop blood drive

The fourth of five 2016 Mountaintop Blood Drives took place last Wednesday in the Meadows of Dan Community Center. We had wonderful results—29 units of blood were donated. That’s five over our goal of 24. Beyond that, we celebrated three first time donors and donation “milestone” pins were given for eight, four and one gallon of accumulated donations. In the “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda” category—if everybody who presented themselves to donate had been able to complete their donation, 38 units of blood would have been received. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to exceed our quota by double digits? That could happen at our next Blood Drive scheduled for Wednesday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the community center.
We owe a warm word of thanks to our volunteers from the Meadows of Dan Women’s Club: Betty Banks, Andrea Frazer, Evona Helms, Jane Hubbard, Mary Locke, Lucy Rudd, and Becky Rudolph who provided sandwiches, drinks, and TLC to our donors. And, a big thank you goes out to Nancy’s Fudge Factory which provided the sugar we all needed to begin replenishing our blood supply. To all the donors who took time from their busy day to help others, thank you so very much.
