Mr. Bruce Gene Francis, age 80 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on September 30, 1940 to the late Harry Hamilton “Ham” Francis and Virginia Rogers Francis. Bruce had retired from VDOT with 37 years of service and was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Peggy Bateman Francis of the home; one son, Jarrell Francis and Billie Goodson of Mt. Airy, NC; one daughter, Suzanne Francis and Bob Wuopio of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Chad Francis and wife, Amyjoe of Stuart, Carson Francis of Mt. Airy, NC; one great granddaughter, Adley Francis; one brother, Bill Francis of Mt. Airy, NC; and a loving caregiver, Nancy Heath.
