 Mr. Edward Cornelius Soyars

 Mr. Edward Cornelius Soyars, age 79 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was born in Patrick County on February 27, 1941.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Addie Walker Soyars; a stepdaughter, Becky Conner; two sisters, Marie Soyars, Peggy West Thomas; and one brother, Samuel Soyars.  Edward had retired from United Elastic.

He is survived by his loving wife, Fern Belcher Soyars of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Jerry Hammond of Patrick Springs; a stepson, Ronnie Harbour and wife, Linda of Woolwine; three grandchildren, Ashley Williams and husband, Dwayne, April Wright and husband, Kevin, Alan Harbour and wife, Christy; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Norma and John Stanley of Bassett, Fern Agee of Stuart; one brother, Tom Soyars of Mt. Airy, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Elder David Kamoda and Pastor Thomas Walker officiating.  Friends are welcome to come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 12 to 5 to pay their respects.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
