Mr. John Arthur “Sonny” Pendleton Sr.

Mr. John Arthur “Sonny” Pendleton, Sr., age 79 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was born in Patrick County on November 5, 1941 to the late John Elmer Pendleton and Annie Fain Pendleton.  John was a member of Minnie’s Chapel Wesleyan Church.  He enjoyed gardening, playing the fiddle, old time bluegrass music, and cheering for the Wood Brothers racing team

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Ann Puckett Pendleton of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Jonathan Wilson, Sarah and Doyle Jordan all of Stuart; one son and daughter-in-law, John A. Pendleton, Jr. and Angie of Sandy Ridge, NC; three grandchildren, Aaron (James) Moore, Travis (Stacie) Jordan, Sydney Wilson; four great grandchildren, Cole Coffey, Delia Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Caitlyn Moore; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geneva Crawford of Burlington, NC, Gladys Ann and Dave Hayhurst of Stuart; one brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Betty Pendleton of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.

All funeral services will be private, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disaster Relief Food Ministry c/o Jimmy Willard, P. O. Box 993, Stuart, VA  24171.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
