Mr. Ray Willie Goard

Mr. Ray Willie Goard, age 79 of Patrick Springs, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was born in Patrick County on June 1, 1941 to the late Tommy Goard and Lucy Arnder Goard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George Goard, J.C. Goard, Larry Goard, and an infant brother, and two sister, Peggy Goard Hall and Maria Reeves. Mr. Goard retired from the Rubber Thread Plant in Patrick County. He was a faithful member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Patrick Springs. Ray loved to hunt and fish and will be remembered for being full of life and his great sense of humor.

Mr. Goard is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Carolyn Clark Goard of the home; one brother, Robert “Pete” Goard of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Church of God of Prophecy, Home Missions, C/o Cindy Kendrick, 2181 Hardie Stone Road, Patrick Springs, VA 24133. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
