Mr. Roy Junior Martin, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on May 13, 1937, to the late Anderson Martin and Stacey Fain Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Law, Virginia Martin; and four brothers, Edward, Albert, William Leon, and Leonard Martin. Mr. Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years, Velma Stowe Martin of the home; four children, Jason Martin and wife, Michelle of Claudville, Sharon Spradlin and husband, Greg of Olathe, KS, Mark Martin and wife, Lisa of Patrick Springs, Angela Rogers and husband, Donald of Stuart; eight grandchildren, Josh Martin, Megan Burgess, Michael Rogers, Hunter Rogers, Mason Rogers, Austin Martin, Chase Martin, Emily Spradlin; four great grandchildren, Connor Burgess, Colt Burgess, Jaxson Burgess, Sterling Martin; four sisters, Elizabeth Griffin of Chapel Hill, NC, Margaret Hiatt of Stuart, Linda Hopkins of Stuart, Kathy Bateman of Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
