Mrs. Bernece Moricle Wood

Mrs. Bernece Moricle Wood, age 90, passed away March 30, 2021 at her home in Stuart, VA. She was born in Charity, VA on January 28, 1931 to the late Leonard E. Moricle and late Meda Roberson Moricle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Glenn Alexandria Wood. Mrs. Wood was also preceded in death by her older brother, Lane Moricle. Mrs. Wood loved to cook large family meals and spend time with her family. She worked at the Wood Brothers Racing Museum as the resident historian. She took pride in knowing and remembering everyone she met. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Carol Wood, Len and Nancy Wood, all of Stuart; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Terry Hall of Stuart; two grandsons, Jon Wood and wife Amanda, Keven Wood and fiancée Ashley Howell; one granddaughter, Jordan Hicks and husband Michael; two great grandsons, Riley Wood and Bailey Wood; two great granddaughters, Giselle Hicks and London Hicks; and several cousins.

Due to COVID 19 protocols, a private family service will be held for Mrs. Wood. There will be no formal visitation, however you can pay your respects to Bernece by visiting Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA April 1, 2021 from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, 171 Sycamore Branch Lane, Stuart, VA 24171 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 730 E. Church St., Suite 13, Martinsville, VA 24112. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
