Mrs. Beulah Grace Snyder Hughes

Mrs. Beulah Grace Snyder Hughes, age 73 of Sanville, Virginia went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born on January 11, 1948 to the late Melvin Murl Snyder and Leola Savage Snyder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Ernest Hughes; seven siblings Thelma Lambert, Mary Auvil, Francis Snyder, Betty Dixon, Lenzie Snyder, Janet Starcher, and Debra Miller; and her first husband, Robert Shay, Sr.

Beulah was known by many as an amazing cook. She loved all things Elvis Presley. Most evenings, she enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending hours on the phone catching up. She had a feisty spirit and a kind soul that will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by one son, Robert Shay, Jr. (Heather), of Derby, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Chris Shay (Brittany), Nikolas Shay, Kenley Shay, Wesley Kanaga, Ryleigh Jackson, Jaysi Jackson, and Emersyn Jackson; two great-granddaughters, Lillian Shay and Emma Grace Shay; six siblings, Ida Fizer (Ralph), Margaret Moore, Virginia Dixon (Charlie), Helen Fowler, Donald Snyder (Terry), and Kenneth Snyder (Nancy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hughes and Lawson Family Cemetery with Pastor Sammy Caldwell and Reverend Cletus Lackey officiating. The public is invited to pay their final respects on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 8:00 am until 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hughes and Lawson Family Cemetery Fund, c/o Brenda McHone, 201 Pine St. Stuart, VA 24171.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
