Mrs. Hazel Myree Clark Harris

Mrs. Hazel Myree Clark Harris, age 89 of Patrick Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. She was born in Virginia on May 12, 1931 to the late William and Mildred Howell Clark. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin S. Harris; a brother, Lois Clark; and two sisters, Francine Dillon and Lou Ella Mills. She was a member and loved attending Stella Christian Church. She had worked at Bassett Walker Knitting (later Vanity Fair) for over 30 years.. She loved flowers, sewing, and working puzzles. She was community minded, loved her family and friends and being “Grandma” and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her children, Shirley Tatum (Paul Rorrer) of Martinsville, Dianne Roop of Bassett, Carolyn Joyce (Gerald) of Patrick Springs, Ronnie Harris (Linda) of Providence, North Carolina and Richard Harris of Patrick Springs; nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Clark of Fieldale.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Critz Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating. Mrs. Harris will lie in state Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
