Mrs. Lillian Lawless Smart

Mrs. Lillian Lawless Smart, age 93 of Stuart, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on May 27, 1926 to the late George and Sallie McBride Lawless. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Smart; three sisters, Sue Lawless, Effie Foley, Pearl Tatum; and three brothers, Marion, Raymond, and Guy Lawless. Lillian had retired from DuPont and was a lifetime member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Smart of the home, Lisa Call of Toano; one granddaughter, Katelyn Call; beloved caregiver, Vicky Clanton; and a host of other family members and friends.

A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Mrs. Smart. The family would like to thank the staff of Blue Ridge Therapy Connection for the care and compassion they gave their mother. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
