Mrs. Margaret Mary O’Connor Epperson

Mrs. Margaret Mary O’Connor Epperson, 85, of Ararat, VA, widow of the late William Gunther “Bill” Epperson, passed away Sunday morning July 19, 2020 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. Mrs. Epperson was born in Galway County, Ireland on July 5, 1935 to the late Martin J. O’Connor and Annie Lydon O’Connor. She was a faithful member of Unity Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Epperson is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherry Epperson of Ararat, VA and Ronald Epperson of Baltimore, MD; two granddaughters, Cheyenne Epperson Painter and husband DJ of Madison, NC, and Miranda Epperson of Ararat, VA; and by three brothers John O’Connor of Ararat, VA, and Joseph O’Connor and Michael O’Connor of Galway, Ireland. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Epperson was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph William “Billy” Epperson and John Russell Epperson; and by a daughter, Ann Marie Epperson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Buford Jessup. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Unity Church Cemetery Fund c/o Patricia Anderson, 358 Mears Road, Claudville, VA 24076.
