Mrs. Mary Loriene Martin Knight

   Mrs. Mary Loriene Martin Knight, age 79 of Madison, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home.  She was born on October 6, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Caney Akers Martin and Dorothy Virginia Rakes Martin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earnie Leon Martin.  Loriene enjoyed the outdoors, her flowers, and her dog.  She was faithful to her church and cherished her church family she worshipped with over the years in North Carolina and Virginia.  She served as clerk, treasurer, pianist, song leader and Sunday School teacher at various times at the Church of God of Prophecy in Mayodan, NC and in her early years was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Patrick Springs.  She worked as a volunteer with the Salvation Army.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Knight of the home; one daughter, Dorothy Renee Hall of Madison, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. “Moose” Foley and Karen of Stuart, Jerry Lee Foley and Susan of Sandy Ridge, NC; two granddaughters, Brittany Foley and Nicole Foley; two step grandchildren, Michael Martin, Jr, Daryl Mason; two step great-grandchildren, Sophia Martin, Dallas Martin; one brother and sister-in-law, Carson Wayne and Lula Ware Martin of Patrick Springs; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Martin of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Barbara Johnson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
