Mrs. Mary Virginia Hill Brim, age 90 of Claudville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on November 28, 1929 to the late William Robert Hill and Ethel Irene Smith Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Wallace Brim; one sister, Lucille Gammons; and six brothers, Herbert, Arthur “Buck”, Glen, Bill, Larry, and Charles Hill. She spent her early years at Red Bank Elementary and graduated from Blue Ridge High School first in her class. She retired after 30 years from Quality Mills/Cross Creek Apparel. She also supported her family farm through which she was able to instill in her children and grandchildren the value of hard work. Mary loved to talk and reminisce with friends and family; many days you could not get through because her phone line was busy! She enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and traveling to fiddler’s conventions. She kept her mind sharp by doing word puzzles and playing board and card games, taking no prisoners in a game of Rummy or Scrabble! Mary loved to crochet and draw, but mostly she enjoyed sharing these creations with family. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dennis Jenkins of Cornelius; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jill Brim of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Michelle and Josh Quesinberry, Jackson Brim, and Jillian Brim; a great-grandson, Paul Quesinberry; a sister, Vernell Coleman of Mount. Airy, North Carolina; one brother, Fred (Sue) Hill of Stuart, Virginia. A floating visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 10am to 4pm at Moody Funeral Home, Mount. Airy, North Carolina. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Claudville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, c/o Sherry Cassady, P.O. Box 206 Claudville, Virginia 24076.
