Mrs. Ruth Ellen Corns Smith

Mrs. Ruth Ellen Corns Smith, age 90 of Lawsonville, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2020. She was born on May 30, 1929, to the late William Howell Corns and Bessie Lou Doss Corns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hassel Smith and one sister, Elsie C. Stowe. Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of High Point Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, enjoyed life, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who were her whole world.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Fain and husband, Dale, Debora Holt and husband Rodney, all of Stuart; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Fain and wife, Melody, Jared Fain and wife, Melissa, Bradley Holt and wife, Nicole, Brett Holt and wife, Amanda; eight great-grandchildren, Christian Fain, Tyler Stowe-Holt, Gavin Fain, Carrington Fain, Zander Fain, Paisley Holt, Averie Stowe-Holt, and Rylan Holt; one sister, Edna C. Hall of Stuart, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted or if desired memorial donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
