Nester taught special education at the elementary level for 10 years in Roanoke County public schools before moving to Carroll County.
In 2014, she joined Patrick County public schools as a special education teacher at Stuart Elementary School.
She has completed various professional development experiences including studies in autism spectrum disorders, reading instruction and intervention, as well as participating in the Virginia Aspiring Special Education Leaders cohort during the 2015-2016 school year.
Nester said she believes strongly in the value of education and lifelong learning, and is excited to be a support to Patrick County students and their families.
