Nester to head MOD school

Amy L. Nester will serve as the principal of Meadows of Dan Elementary School, beginning July 1.

Nester has a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master’s Degree in High Incidence Disabilities, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership all from Radford University.

She taught Special Education at W. E Cundiff Elementary in Roanoke County for 10 years and at Stuart Elementary School for two years. She served as Assistant Principal at Stuart Elementary School for two years and as Title I Instructional Interventionist and Instructional Facilitator at Meadows of Dan Elementary School for two years.

Nester completed the Virginia Aspiring Special Education Leaders Academy, a leadership program established by the Virginia Department of Education. She is involved in her community and her church and has a deep passion for literacy and reading improvement for all students.

Nester lives in Laurel Fork, with her husband, Dustin, and daughter, Anna.
