New dates set for STEM camp in Stuart

Patrick Henry Community College announced new dates were set for the free program to engage middle school girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

The camp will be held at the PHCC site in Stuart July 12 to July 30.

The site is located at 212 Wood Brothers Drive.

Lunch and transportation will be provided over the summer to participants.

Rising 6-8th grade girls may attend the program that is set to be a hybrid model and include both virtual and in-person opportunities.

Participating students will have access to a tablet for the duration of the free program.

PHCC and Verizon partner on the project that is designed to provide a hands-on, immersive learning of design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality and social entrepreneurship.

In Martinsville, the program will be held July 12 to July 30 at the PHCC Dalton IDEA Center, 26 Fayette Street.
