The Jazz Band of Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) will bring a New Orleans flavor to its spring concert slated for Friday, March 9, with a variety of arrangements reminiscent of the New Orleans-style jazz planned.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.

The band will perform favorites that include such as “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Bye Bye Blackbird” during the event that will take place in PHCC’s Walker Fine Arts and Student Center Theatre in Martinsville.

PHCC’s Jazz Band is a selective ensemble comprised of students from PHCC’s Music Specialization program as well as music enthusiasts from the student body and the community. The aim of the program is to provide students with a competitive and performing musical outlet during their interim years between high school and a four-year university.
