Mr. Norman Gayle Cummings, Sr. age 72, of Stuart, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was born in Montgomery County, on July 15, 1946, to the late Harold Wayne Cummings and Irene Altizer Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Douglas Cummings; and one brother, Jerry Wayne Cummings. Norman’s battle with cancer began in 2016 and through it all, he remained brave, never complained and always managed to keep his keen sense of humor intact. He loved fishing, truck driving, and most of all, his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia Foley Cummings; three sons, Norman Cummings, Jr.(Angie), Doss Allen Cummings (Melissa), and Matthew Douglas Cummings(Katy); one daughter, Susan Cummings Heath (Mark); seven grandchildren, Norman “ Trey” Cummings III, Whitney Cummings Cassell, Hunter Doss Cummings, Cole Allen Cummings, Autumn Rae Heath, Will Allan Heath, Evan Matthew Cummings; three great-grandchildren, Jameson Ellis Lawson, Josephine Cummings, and Jourdyn Rae Cassell; sister-in-law, Shirley Pack Royall; and a niece, Jeannie Cummings Harding (Mark).

 A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, with Pastor David Heath and Pastor Tammy Franklin officiating. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33607 or to the SECU Family House, 1970 Baldwin Lane, Winston Salem, N.C. 27103. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
