BERNARD LEE MORAN
Bernard Lee Moran, age 80, of Woolwine, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Floyd County on November 4, 1938, to the late Blanco and Nellie Rorrer Moran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Sarah Lynne Moran. He was instrumental in starting the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department and was a lifetime member. He worked for W.G. Atkins for many years and then owned and operated Bernard’s Appliance and Service. He loved NASCAR racing, bluegrass music, and John Deere tractors.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley Bowling Moran of the home; one daughter, Terri Moran, of Woolwine; one son, Stanley Moran, of Woolwine; three grandchildren, Becky Moran, Melissa Moran, Brian Pilegard; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Garland Cockram, of Stuart, Janie and Joe Spichek, of Roanoke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harless and Darnell Moran, of Stuart, Gaylon and Carolyn Moran, of King, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Woolwine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 138, Woolwine, VA 24185. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
