Members from each of the four Patrick County Ruritan Clubs recently met for the annual Winter Zone Meeting.

Zone Governor Pamela Smith, who also serves as Ararat’s president, reported that 23 Ruritan members met last Monday to discuss club activities and brainstorm ideas on helping each other with projects and fundraisers. Not only members from the local clubs were in attendance, but also members from the Dan River District cabinet.

The group is entertaining the idea of setting up a booth at the Patrick County Agricultural Fair again this year. The booth last September was successful in educating folks about what Ruritan is and what Ruritan does for its individual communities.

There is an informational/organizational meeting scheduled for this Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Stuart Site of Patrick & Henry Community College. Anyone who wants to know more about Ruritan is encouraged to attend this meeting or contact Pamela or Kevin Smith at (276) 229-6931 or (276) 229-6493.
