Parents, grandparents, aunts, and friends at Woolwine Elementary School (WES) showed their support for youngsters by attending training sessions.

The sessions opened with 18 volunteers attending, a reminder of how important volunteers are to the success of the school.

Jeannie King, principal, welcomed volunteers. Joni Martin and Tabitha Keith, members of the parental involvement committee, discussed ways that parents can be and are involved at WES with their child’s learning and key components of the parental involvement plan.

Volunteers received a copy of the volunteer handbook and details about how to be a good volunteer. Several attendees signed up for the Lunch Buddy program and Santa’s Workshop.

Sessions were concluded with excitement and enthusiasm, as volunteers said they were ready to help in any way. WES thanks volunteers for their help and looks forward to having their support.
