Patrick County lost to Carroll County on Friday night at John D. Hooker Field in Stuart by a score of 38-6. The loss moves the Cougars to 2-3 on the season. Offensively, the Cougars were led by Jayden Corns, who had 95 yards rushing with one touchdown on the ground and went 3-12 through the air for 69 yards. Aedan Frazier ran for 22 yards on 4 carries with Noah Cain adding 17 yards on 4 carries. Josiah Shelor added 9 yards on the ground and 50 yards receiving on 2 catches. Carlie Tabor had 19 yards receiving on 1 reception.
Defensively, the Cougars were led by Wheeler Helms, who had 20 tackles and a fumble recovery, Jaxon Handy added 6 tackles with Josiah Shelor, Michael Rucker, and Jacob Spencer added 5 tackles apiece. Ernesto Ponce, Briar Branch, Logan Brown, Andrew Miller and Brayden Hylton had 4 tackles each with Hylton picking up his 4th interception of the season. Also recording tackles for the Cougars were Jayden Corns, Noah Becker, Perry Hicks, Ethan Errichetti, and Ethan Gibson.
The Cougars will be back in action this coming Friday night when they travel to Floyd County.
