Patrick County Cross Country Teams compete in Bassett

Both the boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Bassett, last Tuesday and the boys’ team finished in fourth place with a total team time of 1:43:34.

In the 500 meters, Burke Gonzalez led the team with a time of 19:55.14 12, followed closely behind was Jared Biedrycki with a time of 19:57.14 13.

The girls’ team didn’t finish in the top five, but Jordan Haas had an impressive time of 25:07.44 in the 500 meters race.

Head Coach Lynne Deckel said, “it was a rough course, but I was proud of the resilience and determination everyone showed no matter what happened.” Deckel also said she was especially proud of Biedrycki’s performance as he managed to close our top two spread significantly” and praised Haas’ “grit.”
