The only thing that stopped the Patrick County middle school offense last Thursday night at Floyd was the clock at the end of the game. The Cougars scored on every possession before running out the clock on the last possession.

Quarterback Aidan LaComa rushed 28 times for 203 yards, scoring four rushing touchdowns and was three-for-three passing for 62 yards. Most of Aidan’s yardage came on the Cougars’ QB power play to the right.

“The right side of our offensive line, led by tight end Jaheim Johnson and right guard Nick Tarpely, created gashing holes in the Floyd defense all game long,” said Coach Nathan Keen. “Floyd never stopped our power play, and I never stopped calling it,” he added.

Tailback Tycarious “Boogie” Yellock rushed for 31 yards, and fullback Jeffrey Moore added 24 yards. Cameron Terry caught two passes for 45 yards and Jaheim Johnson caught one big 17-yard completion on fourth down. Demontez Hill added 34 yards on a kick return. The total team offense was 354 yards.

“Our defense played good again giving up 36 yards on the ground and 80 yards through the air,” Keen said.

Boogie Yellock, playing cornerback, had a great game with one interception and one fumble recovery, along with some important pass break-ups and key tackles.

The MS Cougars plan to keep things rolling with their third straight road game at Laurel Park Middle School Thursday, September 7 at 5 p.m.
