There is more to creation than meets the eye
This morning I was sitting in my study looking out the window. The ground was white with snow and sleet; the trees were beginning to be covered with ice. It was a beautiful winter day, how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country. I was amazed as I looked at God’s creation and thought of what the Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the church in Rome. “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20 KJV)
Since the creation of the world God has been revealing Himself to mankind. One of the most obvious places to look is in nature, creation itself. The more we look the more we understand and the more we understand about the world, the more we see order and reason. It is not chaos or by chance that everything in nature was formed and works together. It was a well designed plan by a loving God. If anyone will seriously observe creation here on earth and throughout the universe they can see the person of God and the power of God in the midst of it all. Palms 119 tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God.
Of course there of those who deny that God exist and many who believe still choose to ignore God in their everyday busy life. We should take time to worship God every day, not just on Sunday morning. Actually our lifestyle should reflect our love for our Lord. In John Wesley notes on Romans he warns us “If a man will not worship God as God, he is so left to himself that he throws away his very manhood.” When we are left to our own reasoning and thought we tend to lean more and more to our own lust and desires. Then these desires turn into action and soon could become a lifestyle far from God’s will. It may seem that there is no hope once you’ve turned so far from God, but the truth is, God is not that far away.
God not only created all we have to enjoy but He went beyond creating and came into His creation. God Himself came and stepped into His creation as the Man Jesus Christ. Born as a baby, lived and raised within a family, worked with, eat with and taught with us, mankind. God the creator became human, fully God, fully Man without sin. Because He was sinless, He was able to be the perfect sacrifice for us and not only able but willing. God came and died for our transgressions so we could have the hope of eternal life. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9 KJV) Once we have reconciled with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ we can begin to turn form our selfish ways “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5, 6 KJV)
“Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7 KJV) It’s not that God may become lost and hard to find but we become preoccupied and lost in our sin that we neither seek Him or possible could wait too late. I encourage you to enjoy creation with the Creator. There is so much He can show you and teach us because He was there in the beginning and is still here today. There truly is more to creation than meets the eye. Look beyond the visual and experience the power of God today.
