Need to get rid of that old prescription taking up space in the medicine cabinet, but aren’t sure how to safely dispose of it?
The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office will help.
Authorities there are holding a ‘Drug Take-Back’ event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in the front lobby of the sheriff’s office.
Any type of drugs/medicine will be accepted, even over the counter items that are outdated or are no longer needed, authorities said.
“We want to help safely get rid of anything that is no longer of use, even if it’s outdated Tylenol,” said Felecia Haymore, who is helping organize the event.
Drugs collected Saturday will be packaged and transported for safe disposal, Haymore said.
