Paul Wayne Hopkins, age 69, of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mr. Hopkins was born October 18, 1951 in Mayodan, NC to the late Ernest Murry Hopkins and Hallie Belle Watson Hopkins. He attended the Primitive Baptist Church and served several churches in Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Harbour Hopkins, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Tim Dirks of Fayetteville NC, Jennifer and Paul Flury of Winston Salem, NC, and Mary Beth and Stephen Browde of Fuquay -Varina, NC; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Adam Simons, Tara and Brandon Flury, and Ava Browde; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Polly Hopkins and Don Hopkins of Spencer Va., Elwood and Linda Hopkins and Lowell and Ethel Hopkins of Meadows of Dan, VA; two step-children and spouses, Gerald and Lisa Harbour and Cynthia and Tony Brown: seven step-grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Jordan, and Madison Harbour, Corey Thompson Christina Mabe and Anthony Brown; and six step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Hopkins, and infant daughter Debbie Ruth Hopkins.

Due to covid quarantines, the family cannot receive visitors at this time. A private graveside service will be held at Plaster’s Family Cemetery in Vesta, Virginia. A memorial service including Elders Mike Neikirk, Troy Simpson and John Wingfield will be announced at a later date when safe to gather again. If desired, memorials may be made to the Plaster Family Cemetery Fund 1233 Elamsville Road, Stuart, VA 24171. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
