Both the boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to Galax on Wednesday, September 19 to compete in the Maroon Tide Invitational.

The boys’ team finished in 9th place. According to Head Coach Lynne Deckel, “Everyone made positive strides this meet towards season bests or personal bests. I was very proud of how everyone competed with the top notch competition. Everyone continually used each element of the course to their advantage and lots of pieces are coming together both individually and collectively.”

Burke Gonzalez led his team with the time of 18:13.30. The best performance for the girls was Jordan Haas with a time of 24:10.10.
