The Patrick County High School junior varsity Lady Cougar basketball team picked up its eighth win of the season last Friday night when they defeated the Lady Bulldogs 54-33.
Sierra Hubbard led the JVs with 19 points. She also had double digit rebounds. Savannah Roberts added 12, and Laken Rorrer scored nine.

“This was a good win for the ladies,” said Coach Donnie Rakes. “Due to the bad weather, we had practiced only one time in the past eight days prior to playing, and it showed in our conditioning and ball handling,” he said.

“However, we played hard, especially on defense—that was the key to our game,” Rakes explained. “I think we came out hard-nosed, and that set the tone. We beat a pretty good team in Martinsville, and I am pleased with our momentum,” he said.

The Lady Cougar JVs travel to Basset tonight (Wednesday).

The season record for the PCHS JV Lady Cougars is 8-4.
