The Patrick County District Invitational was held at Patrick County High School on April 17.

Kristian Reynolds and Vanessa Mabe took the win in the boys and girls 1,600 Meter Run. Reynolds also placed second in the 3,200 Meter Run. Jared Biedrycki placed second in the Boys 400 Meter Dash. Molly Hernandez and Richard Glenn came in second in the Girls and Boys Discus. Hernandez placed first in shot put.

Kristian Reynolds takes the win in the 1,600 Meter Run.
Garrett Worley clears the bar on the high jump.

“Our athletes did a great job of defending their house at this meet. Everyone ran hard in every event, and we saw some athletes in unfamiliar territory, going up or down a distance. Impressive performances on the boys’ side were from Garrett Worley in his 200m dash and lead-off leg in the 4 x 4 relay and Alfredo Gutierrez in his 100m, 200m, and 400m races. It’s not easy to cover those distances with not a lot of time in between events, but everyone showed grit and determination in order to perform well. On the girls’ side, Reanna Carico won the discus and Vanessa Mabe matched her personal record in the mile,” said Coach Lynne Deckel.
